The Boys and Girls of County Clare

A humorous look at the Trad Irish music scene in the mid 1960’s in Ireland. John Joe MacMahon (Bernard Hill) and his no-good brother Jimmy (Colm Meany) have played Ceili music since they were born, but after years of sibling rivalry they went their separate ways. Thirty years later, they’re converging in their hometown of County Clare to compete in Ireland’s biggest Ceili competition and they’re prepared to lie, cheat and steal to win.

An introduction and post film discussion on Irish life and music of the times will be offered by Frank Howe. Don’t be surprised to see Andrea Coor herself (The Coors) in a delightful pivotal role.
