Lost Items

If you have lost an item you will be responsible for the cost of the item plus a standard processing fee.

Incomplete Returns

It is the borrower’s responsibility to make sure that each case contains all discs before returning audiovisual materials. If an item is returned missing one or more pieces, we will try to contact you. If the problem hasn’t been resolved within 15 days of the return of the item, you will be charged for the missing piece(s) or, in some cases, the entire item.

Damaged Materials

Library materials should be returned in good condition. Replacement and processing fees will be assessed to the borrower account for items returned in damaged condition. Damage includes but is not limited to:

  • Water damage
  • Burned or ripped covers, cases or pages
  • Ripped or removed labels, barcodes or RFID tags
  • Dirt, sand, food or other substances adhered to materials
  • Highlighting or underlining of text
  • Smoke odor and/or residue
  • Bed bugs or other pests

Blocked Cards

You cannot check out or renew materials if you have fines or fees totaling $5 or more or you have an incorrect address and/or telephone number on your library record.

Special Loan Fees

Customers are responsible for the shipping cost of Inter-library Loan items. This shipping cost must be paid at the time of checkout. The length of the borrowing time and the late fee charged per day for Inter-library Loan items is up to the owning library. Any fees associated with Inter-library Loans will be treated like normal library fees.
